So last Saturday i had an oportunity to devote a whole day to making my little dream come true. Finished Saturday afternoon, my new weather site not only shows the appropriate location of the sun but also uses geolocation to pull back current time and weather for your area. I'll admit, the geo-locator service is a little flakey, so if it does not default to your current location i have provided a manual input at the top right corner of the page. So go and try it out! Tell me what you think! Bye bye now.

Wesley Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15534908433459849527noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5262215785978425557.post-12920178062110436092008-06-04T12:54:00.003-05:002008-06-04T13:03:05.988-05:00Wedding BellsI recently made the most important decision of my life! That's right folks Ole' Wes finally decided to settle down! Yep, I'm of the market....forever! Sorry gals! My wife, Lisa, is a wonderful woman, my best Friend, and a fantastic person inside and out and I am so happy to have met her. The next 80 years of my life should be pretty interesting! Also, for those of you who feel a little left out about not being invited to the wedding, not to fear! We will be having the official ceremony, dress, cake, etc. on November 22, 2008! That weekend was picked because there is no Auburn or Alabama football game going on that weekend. So all of our football fan friends can come on their weekend off! It will be a formal affair at the officers club on Fort Rucker. Formalities should last about 30 minutes the rest of the time will be one big party; Karaoke, Music, Dancing and drinking. We will have full service bar, and 2 kegs. So come ready to throw down! See ya!

Wesley Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15534908433459849527noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5262215785978425557.post-75618728205718197572008-03-11T08:28:00.002-05:002008-03-11T08:30:27.925-05:00PicasaDataProvider for Slide.ShowI recently created this to extend Slide.Show to access my Picasa Google account albums and photos. I have had a lot of requests for the coed and documentation so i wrote some last night. Here is the link: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dcn34zrg_7hqw5n8g9. I hope this helps everyone who has inquired about the DataProvider.

Wesley Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15534908433459849527noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5262215785978425557.post-69774372728006938752007-12-07T16:46:00.000-06:002007-12-07T16:53:59.050-06:00Car Keys on the RiverALWAYS KEEP YOUR CAR KEYS IN YOUR POCKET WHEN ON THE RIVER! This is a lesson i had to learn the hard way. I left my car keys on a sand bar. I ended up having to paddle down then up the river at 7:00 at night. It was hardcore....but believe when I say "THE KEYS WILL NEVER LEAVE MY POCKET AGAIN!" Period. LOL!

Wesley Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15534908433459849527noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5262215785978425557.post-8682644932749949302007-12-07T16:33:00.000-06:002007-12-07T16:44:43.895-06:00Finageling the Google APII have been managing my own website now for about 5 years. Recently I realized that more and more of my photos and blogs were going up on third party websites (aka - Google). So i thought....hmmm...I wonder if google is exposing any web services? Well....they are! A whole bunch of them. So after a couple of weeks of Finageling and learning I set out to recreate my website using googles exposed web services and API's. So.... Vuola! This sight is completely run by google! I bet your wondering what this saves me...well: I no longer have to administer MY site, I can host my site on a smaller server and just administer the site via google, all my data and photos are safely secured in the hands of google, and because the site data and photos are not contained on my site i no longer have to pay my yearly $100 - $150 dollars for webspace(Now, more like $20)...hehe! So...Yaye for me!

Wesley Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15534908433459849527noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5262215785978425557.post-61129875989891223132007-11-06T15:50:00.000-06:002007-12-19T09:08:23.312-06:00My First Published CodeThe other day I wrote a JavaScript that renders the contents of select boxes as tables at the bottom of the page. The script was published by JavaScript.com. Click here to see the publication. This script can be included in the page or pasted into a favorites link in your browser.
Heres a copy of the script:

function renderSelectOptions() { var containerStyle = 'border:1px solid black;width:200px;margin-bottom:5px;font-family:Calibri;'; var headingStyle = 'margin:0px;padding:3px; text-align:center;background-color:SteelBlue;color:white;'; var oddDetailStyle = 'display:block;border-top:1px solid black;background-color:#e9e9e9;padding-left:3px;'; var evenDetailStyle = 'display:block;border-top:1px solid black;background-color:LightSteelBlue;padding-left:3px;'; var selectArray = document.getElementsByTagName('select'); var theHtml = ''; var currentStyle = 'evenDetailStyle'; for(i=0;i<selectArray.length;i++) { theHtml += '<div id="div_' + selectArray[i].name + '" style="' + containerStyle + '"><h4 style="' + headingStyle + '">' + selectArray[i].name + '</h4>'; var optionArray = selectArray[i].getElementsByTagName('option'); for(n=0;n<optionArray.length;n++) { if(currentStyle == 'evenDetailStyle') currentStyle = 'oddDetailStyle'; else currentStyle = 'evenDetailStyle'; theHtml += '<span style="' + eval(currentStyle) + '">' + optionArray[n].innerHTML + '</span>'; } theHtml += '</div>'; } document.write(theHtml); }

Wesley Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15534908433459849527noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5262215785978425557.post-77785284975431517992007-11-04T15:50:00.000-06:002007-11-27T18:53:06.827-06:00I Have My Kayak at Home NowI recently drove to my house in Atmore, AL to retrieve my Kayak! The boat is back home now and I have been using it quite a bit. Last weekend I took a 15 mile trip with Bill down the Choctawhatchee River! It was awesome! It was beautiful outside and I caught 10 bass! One of them was about 3 pounds! I actually enjoyed the trip so much, the next day I took another trip by myself down the Little Choctawhatchee River and caught 10 more fish! It was an awesome weekend! Only thing that sucks is that the time changed the other day now I dont have any daylight left at the end of the day! BUMMER!

Wesley Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15534908433459849527noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5262215785978425557.post-18779508345509072172007-10-13T15:49:00.000-05:002007-11-27T18:53:56.168-06:00My 50 Mile Kayaking TripMy buddy Ryan and I went on a 50 mile trek down the Tallapoosa River this past weekend!! It was by far the best trip weve been on. During the two day trip we saw deer, alligators, owls, coyotes, turkeys, and wild boar. We carried our fishing poles with us and fished the whole way down. We both caught about 45 bass a piece. I caught the biggest spotted bass I have ever seen; He weight about 7 pounds! He was huge! It took me about 20 minutes to get him in but with the help of my friend I landed him, got a picture, a quick kiss on his slimy lips, and put him back!! It was awesome!! Feel free to check out my pictures in my albums.

Wesley Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15534908433459849527noreply@blogger.com0
